A little treat for today – posting a video rather than a picture. I had fairly good results the day before with videotaping a snowboard run so I thought I’d give it a shot once again. Not as good this time, but far happier with the color of the video – mysterious purple tones? Who knows, that camera has a mind of its own. The video isn’t terribly exciting as I was doing my best not to fall down so perspective isn’t great. This was the last day for the short-lived mini vacation. It was nice to finally get some new snow at Meadows and even get thrashed in the whiteout conditions at the top!

I sold my Canon XT earlier this week so I’ve been hard pressed to keep up on photos because I’m not particularly fond of this other samsung point and shoot. It does alright in very bright situations like this scene from Mt.Hood ski bowl above. Many of my friends decided to rent a cabin for the weekend and partake in some skiing and snowboarding, some drinking and some eating. Katie and I got off to a late start and made our way across the street (how nice, right?) to ski bowl. It was very warm and sunny, probably pushing 50 degrees. Snowboarding conditions were less than ideal but it was fun regardless.

I was convinced to abscond from work and go snowboarding today. It was pretty tough to beat, especially considering that lift passes were free if you brought and empty bottle of unnamed brand’s beverage. This was my first time snowboarding at Timberline Lodge on Mt.Hood. I really liked the runs that they had here. I think this was by far the best day I’ve had snowboarding to date (it’s only my second season). While at the top of this particular lift (some 8700+ feet up) we saw a fighter jet fly by. There was also the most amazing hot chocolate in the lodge. Enough yammering now.
